About Community Music

Community Music Initiatives began in 1997 with a vision to provide people of the Greater Edmonton Region with improved access to music education opportunities. Since that time, “Community Music” has established itself as a reliable provider of quality private instruction in piano, voice, violin and guitar.

With a singular focus on maintaining a high standard of instruction, Community Music has earned a reputation for its superior teachers; without exception, they are talented musicians, chosen for their knowledge of music and their instrument, and for the energy and conviction they bring to their teaching.

For Community Music and its instructors, promoting music literacy, proficiency and enjoyment of music is a shared passion. It is our belief that this work complements the desire of the communities we serve to provide the best possible educational and cultural opportunities for their residents.

Community Music Initiatives is a not-for-profit company, incorporated under provincial legislation that was designed to facilitate the provision of education, culture and recreation services. Not-for-profit companies are designated as "Companies With Objects Other Than the Acquisition of Gain" and operate on a cost–recovery basis only. As a not-for-profit, we are grateful to the groups and organizations that make space available in their communities for music lessons.
